AKB LEX is acclaimed as one of the seasoned Construction, Infrastructure and Arbitration Law firm in North India. The AKB LEX team possesses vast experience of rendering legal services for the development of infrastructure projects in a variety of sectors including highways, bridges, toll plazas, railways, transport terminals, ropeways, urban infrastructure, power generation, energy disputes and insurance matters etc.
AKB LEX was established in 1987 by Dr. Ashwinie Kumar Bansal who is its Director and has experience of about 35 years. He is widely known an architect of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 as he had drafted and proposed the New Arbitration Bill and repealing of old Arbitration Act, 1940 in 1994 on consideration of which he was invited as a distinguished Arbitration Expert by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India in the committee for drafting the Arbitration Bill, 1995 and he had made significant contributions to it. He has written 10 books on arbitration and other laws and handled over 2000 arbitration matters.
He is a founder member of International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution, member of the Supreme Court Bar Association and member of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association.
